The other day I got a phone call from my Mum and she started asking me what I wanted to do as a career after Uni. So, I replied ‘Fashion.’ I know. What a vague answer. My mum questioned my ridiculous answer and it made me think. I want to turn my hobby into a career, but what do I really want to do and how do I get there? I am currently nearly half-way through my University degree and am desperate to find a job perfect for me.
I read With Love, Tereza‘s Blog Post about the V&A Fashion Event and it perfectly captures my (and many other people’s) mindsets about approaching a career in the Fashion Industry. Everyone begins in the same boat: knowing what they want to do but not knowing what they want to do. Tereza addresses this on her blog, but it gave me hope that as time passed, you do eventually figure out specifically what area you want to work in.
I have slowly realised that the perfect job won’t hit me in the face randomly, but I have to take my time and think. How can I turn something I love into something I have a career in? Honestly, I still don’t really know but I am sure that I will figure it out. I’ll keep looking and hopefully one day I can write a blog about how I found the perfect job for me.
A very short but sweet post.
